That's something I told my son a few years ago. Han Solo? Straight out of a western. Shoot, George Lucas was strongly inspired by The Searchers when making Star Wars.
Batman? You could say he’s the gunslinger there to clean up town. So is Jack Reacher. The modern day rogue cop story? Straight out of westerns.
I grew up watching Walker Texas Ranger on Saturday nights. Sure it's cheesy. Yes, it's silly. But it's what really shaped my taste as a storyteller. It's no wonder I spent my first few years as a novelist writing about a rogue cop who wants to do some good on the streets of Chicago. But now, I'm going back even further to my storytelling roots. I recently released my first western called Standoff at Sundown.
It's a new series and it's been an absolute blast to write. I'm currently editing the second book in the series and writing the third.
Bang bang pew pew indeed. The bullets are flying and there almost always seem to be more bad guys than good guys. I suppose it's always been that way in great stories.
I hope you enjoy this story. It's really a love letter to the western.

Awesome man! Love westerns too and fell in love with their vibe after much visits in family roadtrips. I’ll try to pick up a copy
