Recently, I launched my first western novel. And, pardon the expression, but it's been a rough ride.
Barnes and Noble basically was a nightmare for me. They put the wrong cover on my book and refused to change it, despite.contacting them 5 times.
Customer service is often non-existent today it seems. So all this to say, if you decide to use Barnes and Noble Press, good luck.
Finally I decided to just delete the book from Barnes and Noble Press. My books are on Amazon and you can always contact me directly (jimwoodswrites@gnail.com) and I'll ship a signed book to you or email you an ebook.
On a positive note, I had a book launch party at my co-working space and it went really well. I shared here in Substack how I was nervous as can be about the event. I don't like speaking to a group of people. But it went just fine and I had a great time.
I'm currently editing my second western and writing the third western, but if you're interested in editing, coaching, or help with self-publishing, I'm definitely open to opportunities.
How are you doing? Are you working on a book or any fun creative projects? Please feel free to leave a comment and don't be shy if you'd like to share a link.
Have a good one,
Jim
P.S. I wrote a gritty, dark little short story here you might enjoy.
I enjoyed the Western, even though I do not usually read Westerns! So, good going! My new book is about to come out and I'm very excited about it. I hope you have great success with your follow-ups and...yes...everyone is mostly looking at Amazon first, so ... that's where the gig is. Keep it up!
Is the new book a sequel to Standoff ? Or are you writing about raising turkeys this time?🤠best of luck.
